Cyprus, encompassing both the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the Republic of Cyprus, offers a delightful Mediterranean climate that resonates with the sunny allure of Israel. With more than 300 days of sunshine annually, it stands out as one of the warmest destinations in the European region.


Seasonal Highlights in North and South Cyprus:


Summer: Spanning from late May to mid-late October, the summer season graces both North and South Cyprus with average temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius, peaking in August. The coastal areas particularly boast balmy temperatures perfect for seaside relaxation.


Winter: From December to the end of February, the winter season in Cyprus offers a mix of pleasant, dry, and cool days alongside occasional rain and storms, though not in extreme measures. Expect an average temperature of approximately 15 degrees Celsius, making it an ideal time for hiking.


Transitional Seasons: Spring, beginning in March, welcomes pleasant dry weather, while autumn, arriving towards the end of September, retains a hint of summer warmth with a touch of coolness. The mountainous areas tend to be cooler, so packing accordingly is advisable for those explorations.

The weather in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is quite reminiscent of the typical Mediterranean climate in Israel and will therefore be suitable for a visit all year round – with more than 300 days of sunshine a year, the island is considered the hottest in the European region. The summer season is from late May to mid-late October and the average temperature is 30 degrees with the hottest month (in coastal areas) being August. Winter season on the other hand, from December to the end of February. Ranging from pleasant, dry and cool days to rainy and stormy days, but not in an extreme way. In winter the average temperature is about 15 degrees – a wonderful time to hike in Northern Cyprus, go on a skiing holiday, and enjoy the clear and cool air. The transition seasons can be fickle, In the spring period from March, very pleasant and the weather is dry and cool and the autumn coming towards the end of September, is still characterized by hot weather with a bit of coolness. The mountain areas will be cooler and therefore it is advisable to equip accordingly.
